The 1986 Harley Davidson XLH Sportster 1100 has staggered shorty dual exhaust system, chromed headlight and laced front and rear wheels. The 86 model was the first year the Sportster got the Evolution engine, the 86 and 87 models were 1100ccs. The Sportsters went to the 1200cc engine in 1988. The 1986 model Evolution engine got aluminum heads and cylinders, hydraulic lifters, 34mm fixed venturi Keihin carburetor. This XLH Sportster saw the new XLX frame with powder coat frame paint, a solo seat, low handlebars. There were 3,077 XLH 1100s produced in 1986.
