SELLERS DESCRIPTION
This is a great deal, a great bike with a crazy price. This is a beautiful gem! A sacrifice price almost $3000 below market, you buy the plates, and drive off with a Classic Harley in perfect condition.
The Second World War ended in 1945 and by November of that year Harley turned to fulltime civilian production with much of the "surplus" of the WLA line being converted to WL and sold during 1946. The Flathead engine is an engine based in simplicity. This engine does not have overhead valves but has the valves set on the side of the engine and open into a chamber next to the combustion chamber. This eliminates the need for pushrods and rocker arms.
The old Flatheads were produced with less than exact specs so getting a tight fitting engine is a real struggle. A Swedish company named Flathead Power was producing some high quality versions of this engine. S&S bought Flathead Power and these and other high quality engines are now produced in Wisconsin.
